Eating Clean


I have found that the majority of people don’t really understand what “Eating Clean” means.

Eating Clean refers to eating foods that are free of chemicals, additives and/or preservatives. You can take it a step further, and eat only organic, grain-fed and/or cage-free foods. A lot of these choices depend on your budget, quite honestly. Healthy foods do cost more…FACT. But, produce from a local Farmer’s Market is often cheaper than the produce at your local grocery store chain because it hasn’t had to be put on a diesel burning semi and driven across the country to get to you.

Understanding that what you put in your body is far more important than just eating because you are hungry. When good, healthy, clean foods are ingested you are getting more bang for your buck. You feel better, you look better, you have better overall health, you perform better in the gym. People use the trash can analogy all the time: “Don’t treat your body like a garbage can when you eat”. I cook all of my meals myself, so I know what’s in my food.


We are entering into spring. Fresh, locally grown produce is available all over, now. Farmer’s Markets, which offer a lot more than vegetables, are opening up. Do a little bit of research, and find out where your area’s outdoor/local markets are. Eating healthier, cleaner foods will ramp up your weight loss results, improve your health and support local farmers and growers. It’s a win-win! 🙂

So, grab a handful of reusable shopping bags, get on your bike and get over to the Farmer’s Market TODAY!!!!!  go green
